During 2009 and into 2010, 2nd Harvest faced major challenges with increasing demands for food and shifts in the types of food needed from the many different donors programs. These shifts were causing inefficiencies and would eventually lead to inequities in distribution that warranted changes in how the food came in, was stored, and how it could fairly be distributed to over 250 agency distribution points
Richard Brown of our PMI INW Chapter volunteered to help the food bank along with project management expertise. He will be talking about his experience at 2nd Harvest and the rewards in doing community outreach engagements. He will also discuss some of the obstacles that may be particularly troublesome in engagements with volunteer organizations. He’ll start the presentation with a brief video about 2nd Harvest.
